Center City Eruv
The Center City Eruv covers the entire Center City area, as well as adjoining neighborhoods. View the map here.
Our Eruv connects to the University City Eruv, in West Philadelphia, via the South Street Bridge and has recently been extended south.
The Center City Eruv is checked weekly, and repaired as needed, by volunteers. The original Rav Hamachshir of our Eruv was HaRav Aharon Dov Brisman zt'l. Rabbi Eliezer Hirsch of Mekor Habracha serves as the Eruv's Director and local halachic advisor.

Message from the Center City Eruv (9/18/20)
THE CENTER CITY ERUV HAS BEEN EXTENDED! The Center City Eruv has been extended south, a monumental achievement for the Philadelphia Jewish community. We would like to thank all who were instrumental in this process: Andres Catalan, for countless hours mapping the route of the Eruv; Rabbi Refoel Szmerla and Rabbi Stephen Belsky for constructing the Eruv; to the corporate offices of the Philadelphia Gas Works and the entire site team at 3100 Passyunk Avenue for allowing us access to install essential Eruv infrastructure; to Rabbi Dov Brisman, our Rav HaMachshir who spent many hours discussing the project with us; and to Rabbi Eliezer Hirsch and Rabbanit Dasi Fruchter for all of their help and guidance in getting the extension constructed.
View the map here. The general guidelines are:
The eastern border of the Eruv is I-95
The western border of the Eruv is the Schuylkill River
The northern border of the Eruv remains at Poplar Street
The Southern border of the Eruv follows I-76 in most places. To ensure you stay in bounds, check the map before carrying south of Oregon Avenue.
